
The Litchfield, New Hampshire Police Department is actively seeking police officer candidates interested in a challenging police-oriented career to fill current or anticipated vacancies. The Litchfield Police Department is a community oriented, progressive, professional law enforcement agency serving a population in excess of 8,500 people. The Town of Litchfield is located in the southern tier of New Hampshire with easy access to the Boston Metropolitan area, Manchester/Boston Regional Airport, beaches, and the White Mountains.
Officers patrol an assigned area for the purpose of crime prevention and law enforcement. Duties include, but are not limited to: Calls for Service; investigation of crimes; identification/apprehension of offenders; prevention of crime. Applicants must have the ability to exercise good common sense; discretion; be able to analyze situations quickly and objectively; make decisions under pressure; and perform ALL of the essential job functions of a police officer.
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Minimum of 21 years of age
- College education or military experience desirable
- A United States Citizen
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- NH PSTC Certification preferred
Applicants who meet the basic qualifications are selected on a competitive basis. Components of the selection process include:
