In accordance with RSA 53-E you are hereby notified of a PUBLIC HEARING to consider approval of the 

Litchfield Community Power Plan

The Town is considering implementing a new Town program called Community Power, or in other states, called Municipal Aggregation. If adopted by a majority of Town voters, The Community Power Plan would empower the Town to enter into Electric Services Agreements with Competitive Electric Power Suppliers to serve the electric supply needs of residents and small businesses in Town. The intent is to pool our electricity demand and use the power of the competitive market for cost savings and more local renewable energy supply choices.

COPIES OF THE DRAFT COMMUNITY POWER PLAN ARE AVAILABLE AT TOWN OFFICES, THE LIBRARY, AS WELL AS ON THE TOWN WEBSITE http://litchfieldnh.gov/energy-committee  

You are invited to attend the hearing to hear a short presentation, ask questions and offer your comments. If you are unable to do so there will be another public hearing on December 4th, or feel free to email the Committee at ec@litchfieldnh.gov for more information.

Public Hearing Notice: Metal Detection Policy

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

The Litchfield Board of Selectmen will hold a public hearing on Monday,  November 13th  beginning at 6:30 P.M. at the Town Office Conference Room, for the purpose of considering an ordinance covering Metal Detection on Town Land. This ordinance will prohibit metal detection on Town-owned property if the site is a “historic property,” as defined by RSA 227-C:1, VI unless a special exception is granted.  The Board will also consider adopting a process of approval which will cover said Metal Detection activities.

                  Press Release – TOWN OF LITCHFIELD 2023 TAX RATE SET

October 18, 2023  –  The Town of Litchfield’s 2023 property tax rate was set by the New Hampshire Department of Revenue Administration.  The 2023 rate will be $20.94 per $1,000 of assessed property valuation.  This represents an increase of $1.91 per thousand compared to 2022, as illustrated in the chart below.

The December tax bills can be estimated as follows:

Property Value/1,000 X $20.94 =  taxes due based on 2023 tax rate
Less amount paid in June/July 23 = estimated payment due for the December tax bill

Request for Proposals – SPRING CLEAN UP, MOWING AND TRIMMING 

The Cemetery Trustees is seeking proposals for Spring Cleanup, Mowing, and Trimming services for April 1, 2024 through November 1, 2024. 

Proposal specifications are available at the Litchfield Town Office and Town website (www.litchfieldnh.gov). Proposals are due, in accordance with the proposal specifications,  by 4 p.m. on October  2, 2023. The Cemetery Trustees shall reserve the right to reject any and all proposals and waive any minor or non-material informalities if deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Litchfield. All requests for additional information and questions should be directed to the Town Administrator, Kim Kleiner, at kkleiner@litchfieldnh.gov.
