PUBLIC HEARING
Wednesday, January 26, 2022

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that in accordance with NH RSA 675:7, the Litchfield Planning Board will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Hall Meeting Room, 2 Liberty Way to consider the following changes to the Litchfield Zoning Regulations and Site Plan Regulations:

Zoning Sections:

Item 1 Northern Commercial District Amend Section 800.00 NORTHERN COMMERCIAL DISTRICT to allow additional business uses and to require sidewalks in certain locations to foster development of a walkable New England Village environment.

Item 2 Southwestern Commercial District Amend Section 700.00 SOUTHWESTERN COMMERCIAL DISTRICT to allow certain additional business uses but to prohibit Warehousing and Distribution facilities except as an accessory use.  

Item 3 Northern and Southern Commercial/Industrial Service Districts Amend Section 950, NORTHERN COMMERCIAL/INDUSTRIAL SERVICE DISTRICT and Section 1000, SOUTHERN COMMERCIAL/INDUSTRIAL SERVICE DISTRICT, to limit the development of warehousing & distribution facilities

Item 4 Floodplain Conservation District Amend Section 1100.00, FLOODPLAIN CONSERVATION DISTRICT, to clarify that residential uses are permitted by Special Exception.  

Site Plan Regulations:

Item 5 Amend Appendix I Conditional Use Permit to add all the conditional use permit categories.

Acceptance of Grant Funds

The Litchfield Board of Selectmen will conduct a public hearing on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 6:30pm at the Town Office Meeting Room, 2 Liberty Way, Litchfield, NH to discuss acceptance of an Emergency Management Performance Grant in the amount of $50,000 ($25k state / $25k town) to purchase generators for the towns critical communication system.

Job Notice

The Litchfield Town Clerk/Tax Collector’s office is accepting Resumes for the position of Deputy Town Clerk/ Tax Collector.   The responsibilities include: providing citizens with accurate and vital information, as well as an accurate accounting of revenues collected. The position requires an understanding of applicable state laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to a town clerk/tax collector. Specific duties required in assisting the Town Clerk/Tax Collector:

  • Registration and titling of motor vehicles, boats and off road vehicles.     
  • Accepting and applying payments for property taxes. Liening, deeding and property title searches.
  • Vital Records administration including processing marriage licenses, birth and death certificates.
  • Maintaining town records and other documents in need of safekeeping or of historical value.
  • Assisting with voter registration and other election related business such as processing of absentee ballots.
  • Acts as a key front end resource to residents and businesses in resolving questions and direction to other town departments.  
  • Preparing daily financial reports and deposits
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented a must
  • Ability to work confidently and independently

Applicant shall be a resident of the Town of Litchfield, NH. A High School Diploma or equivalent is the minimum qualification, however, an ideal candidate would have a familiarity with MAAP, NHVRIN, ElectioNet, NH Fish & Game, Avitar Clerk, and Tax Collect. As a full-time position, it is eligible for health, dental, short-term disability and participation in the NH Retirement System. The position works 40 hours per week including one evening. Hourly wage is $20.20 to $25.55 depending on experience and qualifications.
