
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Litchfield Transfer Station is taking the following steps to maintain public services and protect the health and safety of our residents and employees. To maximize safe distancing measures hours of operations have been extended, restrictions have been placed on days when brush, leaves and yard waste is accepted and the swap table is closed. These changes, as well as others, will hopefully ease congestion. All temporary changes in hours, rules and procedures are listed below:

Wednesday
Extended hours of operations 12 pm to 7 pm
ACCEPTED – Trash, recycling & demo waste
NOT ACCEPTED – Brush, leaves & yard waste
Thursday
7 am to 12 pm
ACCEPTED – Trash, recycling, demo waste, brush, leaves & yard waste
Friday
Extended hours of operations 12 pm to 8 pm
ACCEPTED – Trash, recycling & demo waste
NOT ACCEPTED – Brush, leaves & yard waste
Saturday
7 am to 4 pm
ACCEPTED – Trash, recycling & demo waste
NOT ACCEPTED – Brush, leaves & yard waste
Sunday
Extended hours of operations 8 am to 12 pm
(NOTICE CLOSED EASTER SUNDAY)
ACCEPTED – Demo waste, brush, leaves & yard waste
NOT ACCEPTED – Trash and recycling
NEW Rules & Procedures Until Further Notice:
- ALL TRASH shall be bagged; no loose waste!
- Tipping vehicle parking spaces reduced from 10 to 7 to allow extra customer space.
- Tipping vehicle stop line to be moved (2) feet to allow extra customer space.
- When off loading at the tipping area only (1) one customer can exit the vehicle at a time.
- The swap table shall be closed.
- Transfer Station employees are required to maintain a distance of (10) ten feet from customers.
- Tipping floor, recycling room, handrails, walls and door knobs are disinfected weekly.
