On October 29, 2018, the Litchfield Police Department arrested Michael Leduc of Litchfield NH on two counts of Cruelty to Animals.

Michael is expected to appear before the Merrimack District Court for his arraignment on December 11, 2018.

On October 6, 2018, the Litchfield Police Department received numerous reports of two guinea pigs that were abandoned in the Moore’s Falls Conservation Area. The department would like to thank the Litchfield community for the information and tips that helped solve the investigation. The department would also like to thank the Guinea Pig Sanctuary in Hampton NH for rescuing the guinea pigs. Unfortunately, both guinea pigs passed away after developing respiratory issues. The department would also like to remind the public that is illegal to abandon any animal without proper provision for its care, sustenance, protection or shelter.
