Private Well Reconnection and
June 14, 2017 Service Connection Deadline

Press release from the Litchfield, NH Board of Selectmen May 4, 2017: The Litchfield Board of Selectmen is pleased to announce that Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics (Saint-Gobain) has agreed to reconnect all outside spigot(s) and/or irrigation systems, to the extent practical and feasible, to residents’ private wells. The original plan was to connect only one outside spigot/irrigation system; however, following the March 30, 2017 public meeting, Saint-Gobain has revised the Well Reuse Work Plan to allow homes to be connected to include all outside spigot(s) and/or irrigation systems. Saint-Gobain has hired C.T. Male Associates to manage the reconnection project. C.T. Male Associates will contact property owners early next week to begin scheduling work. Property owners can contact Jacob Gordon at j.gordon@ctmale.com or (518) 848-3533 for additional information.

The Litchfield Board of Selectmen also wishes to remind impacted property owners that Saint-Gobain has agreed to pay for all expenses associated with the connection to public water, decommissioning private wells and/or retaining private wells for nonpotable use. However, property owners must submit applications to Pennichuck Water by no later than June 14, 2017, to be eligible. Property owners will be responsible for all expenses to connect to public water, as well as the decommissioning or retention of their wells, if their election is not submitted by the June 14, 2017, deadline. Please contact Michelle Collins at Pennichuck Water Michelle.collins@pennichuck.com or (603) 577-0293 for more information.

The Litchfield Board of Selectmen is pleased that Saint-Gobain has agreed to reconnect all outside spigot(s) and/or irrigation system, to the extent practical and feasible, and wishes to thank all involved who continue to work on behalf of the Town of Litchfield to settle this complicated issue. For further information please contact Litchfield Town Administrator Troy Brown at tbrown@litchfieldnh.gov (603) 424-4046 X 1250.
