School Board Member Vacancy

The Litchfield School Board is seeking to fill a vacancy created by a Board member resignation.

Per Board policy and appropriate statues the vacancy shall be filled by a majority vote of the remaining members of the School Board. The eligible candidate shall be appointed for the remainder of the unexpired term, until Monday, March 9, 2014 (RSA 197:26; RSA 671:33).

Candidates must meet the following criteria:
a. Be of good moral character, at least eighteen (18) years of age, have been a resident of Litchfield for at least one year prior to the date of his/her election or appointment;
b. Be a registered voter in the Town of Litchfield (RSA 671:18);
c. Not be a holder of any office or position of profit under any government in the School District of Litchfield, nor be a member of the municipal council (RSA 671:18);
d. Not have been removed from any office of trust under federal, state or local laws for malfeasance in such office;
e. Not be engaged in a business transaction with the School District, be employed by the School District, or receive pay for services by the School District (RSA 671:18);

f. Take and subscribe to the oath and affirmation prescribed by statute before entering the duties of the office.

Candidates should be available for public interview at Campbell High School on the evening of Wednesday, October 15, 2014 beginning at 5:30 p.m., or another date to be determined.
