National Fire Prevention Week is October 5th-11th, 2014, Litchfield. This year’s theme is “Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives.”
In observance of National Fire Prevention Week on Friday October 3rd, the Annual Fire Apparatus Parade will begin at 6:30pm. The parade this year will start from the South end of town, leaving Griffin Memorial School on Route 3A, heading south. The route is reversed each year to allow residents at each end of town the opportunity to view the parade before dark.
Parade Route
Head South from the parking lot at GMS on Rt3A to Talent Road. Turn left on Talent, continue across Albuquerque Ave. and turn right on Pilgrim Drive. Take Pilgrim Drive to the end and turn right on Page Road. Next, turn right on Albuquerque Ave. Continue on Albuquerque and take a left on Nesenkeag Drive. Nesenkeag will lead into Nakomo. Go to the end of Nakomo and turn right on Brickyard Drive. Turn right on Pinecrest Road. Turn left on Albuquerque Ave. Turn right onto Meadowbrook Lane to Hillcrest Road. Turn left on Hillcrest and then right on Albuquerque Ave. heading North to Brenton St. Turn right on Brenton, then turn left on Century Lane. Continue on Century across Albuquerque and turn right on Garden Drive. Turn left on Ronisa, right on Robyn, right on Roberts, and left on April Drive. At Albuquerque, take a left to Charles Bancroft Highway. Turn right on CBH and head North. Turn right on Forest, right on Brook, and continue down Arcadian to Corning Road. Turn left on Corning and then left on Charles Bancroft Highway. Follow CBH to the Fire Station.
